So many people are stuck in the "what about me" or "why me" mind. I try to put myself in others' shoes often. I am glad you are a giving person. You probably should charge for half of your conversations, yet you help others for free and deserve a strong network. In addition to giving, you share your true personality with others (even strangers) and I LOVE that! You are more than a professional; you are a genuine, interesting person. What I would tell others is be transparent and honest. If I really know what you need, I might be able to help! Sean, you are dead-on.
