Ans 1.
Natural materials: Air, water, Minerals, Vegetables, fruits etc
Man-made materials: Car, scooter, TV, mobile, radio etc

And 2: Yes, this list includes air, water, and soil.

 

Question 3:  Can we use all our natural resources forever?
Ans 3: No, we can not use all our resources forever. They will exhaust if we keep them using without thinking about our upcoming generations.

 

Question 4: Can air, soil and water be exhausted by human activities?
Ans 4: No, these resources will no finish by human activities

 

Question 5: Is water a limitless resource?
Ans 5: No water is a limitless resource but freshwater can be finished if we do not use it cautiously. Freshwater is present in a very less percentage compared to the total amount of water present on earth’s surface.

Ans 6:

Ans 7: The product used for surfacing of roads is Bitumen.

 

Question 8:  Describe how coal is formed from dead vegetation. What is this process called?
Ans 8: Earth had very dense forests in the beginning. With the passage of time, due to weathering and other phenomena, the dead vegetation got buried deep inside the earth’s surface. It experienced pressure for a very long time and this caused the formation 0f coal. We call this method carbonization.

Ans 11: Fossil fuels are exhaustible resources because they are nonrenewable and will finish if we keep using them uncautiously. It took millions of years for the formation of coal and petroleum.

 

Question 12:   Describe the characteristics and uses of coke.
Ans 12:
1)  Coke is the purest form of carbon.
2) Coke is made by heating coal in the absence of air, by a destructive distillation process.
3) If we talk about its nature, it is tough in nature.
4. It is porous in nature.
5) It is used as fuel in stoves.

 

Question 13:   Explain the process of the formation of petroleum.
Ans 13: The marine life living under the sea gets buried after their death. With the passage of millions of years, they get buried deep down and with high temperature, pressure and absence of the air they converted into petroleum. This petroleum is then extracted by different methods.
