Monkey Trouble Summary
Monkey trouble is an interesting chapter in the DAV Class 7 English Literature book. The story has been written by an eminent writer, Ruskin Bond. The story revolves around a mischievous female monkey Tutu. Tutu was bought by Grandfather after seeing its innocent face.
The grandmother was against keeping Tutu in the house but later on, it was allowed to stay in the house. There was a young boy in the house who loved Tutu and spent a lot of time with Tutu. His uncle and Aunt Ruby were about to marry. One fine day they went to the market to buy a ring for their wedding. The boy went after them without letting them notice. Tutu followed the author but no one knew about its presence.
When the author’s uncle and aunt were sifting through some jewelry, Tutu made an entry into the shop and its search stopped at a beautiful necklace. In no time, Tutu wore the necklace and before anyone could say something, it swiftly ran towards the crowded market. Everyone ran after him including Rocky, the author, the worried Shopkeeper, and everyone else who had no idea as to what was happening.
After a long chase, Tutu made up her mind and flung the necklace in a canal. The shopkeeper without any second thought jumped into the canal, so did Rocky. Rocky managed to find the necklace and handed it safely to the shopkeeper. The wedding ring was bought and the wedding was announced.
After this incident, Tutu was seen in the kitchen helping the grandmother in preparing the cake for the wedding. Tutu secretly added red chili sauce, bitter gourd seeds, and eggshells to the cake. Many of the guests who ate the cake were not seen for several days after the wedding.
